As Independence Day approaches it fetches with it thousands of memories, everyone is excited for the day just as August dawns. The excitement and enthusiasm is equivalent to the two great Eids. It seems as if some heavenly power is going to descend on the day of Independence. The passion of nationhood and patriotism is at its pinnacle.
Right after summer vacations when schools and educational institutes commence preparations for the celebration of the big day begins. Students are made to practice lots of patriotic songs and drill for dramas, short plays and heartrending speeches just to make them re live the essence of Independence.
The enthusiasm is not merely limited to schools, even the markets and bazaars are also not far behind in the race. Everywhere in the bazaars, you get to see flags of various sizes and shapes. Small shops, hawkers and stalls are all crowded by people engrossed in searching and selecting the appropriate flags.
Admittedly, these celebrations depict chauvinism, nationality and loyalty towards our beloved land.
