LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that Tahir-ul-Qadri came to Pakistan for creating lawlessness to serve his foreign masters’ agenda.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday evening, he said that Qadri’s cronies were striving to create chaos and anarchy for derailing the democratic system of the country.
He said that people had become fully aware of the conspiracies of these elements, adding those bent upon to damage the image of the country would be frustrated with the public support.
The Minister said that today the way PAT workers attacked police in Model Town Lahore had fully exposed the real face of Tahir-ul-Qadri.
He said that the attitude and actions of Tahir-ul-Qadri are against the constitution and state. He said that such a person who is not ready to accept the law and judiciary had no place in country’s politics and the government would not let him indulge in ‘goondaism.’
Mashhood said that Tahir-ul-Qadri had gathered more than 2500 person in Minhaj-ul-Quran and made women as his shields. “Had there been any truth in his stance he will not have refused to present his stance before the judiciary,” he added.
He said that Punjab government had sympathized with the bereaved families of June 17 incident and expressed shock and grief over loss of human lives. He said “We are in contact with the heirs and will provide them justice but will not allow a person like Tahir-ul-Qadri to exploit the sentiments of the workers.”
Law Minister said that the workers of Tahir-ul-Qadri had injured seven police officials including an SHO and his ‘goonda’ force had also burnt a police station.
He alleged Qadri had planned to create law and order situation in seven cities of Punjab but government would not permit him to disturb peace in the province.
He said that the government had video footage of those people who attacked officials of law enforcement agencies and these attackers were not belonged to Lahore and had been called from backward areas.
He said that on receiving the recommendations of joint investigation team, the government would arrest Tahir-ul-Qadri.
He said that the law would also take its course due to the illegal occupation of Model Town Park by Tahir-ul-Qadri and government would retrieve all places grabbed by Qadri.
