KARACHI: The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US $ 14,264.1 million on August 8, 2014, a statement of State Bank of Pakistan issued here on Friday.
Giving a break-up of the foreign reserves position it said that Foreign reserves held by the SBP stood at US $ 9,188 million while the net foreign reserves held by banks were US $ 5,076.1 million on August 8.
During the week ending August 8, 2014, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves decreased by US $ 89 million to US $ 9,188 million compared to US $ 9,277 million in the previous week.
The decrease in SBP reserves is mainly attributed to payments of US $80 million on account of external debt servicing.
SBP did not receive any significant inflows during this week,the statement said.
