KARACHI: Women keeping themselves occupied in healthy activities that also includes their domestic responsibilities – housekeeping and decorating it besides personal grooming can help them avoid depression and anxiety.
Psychologists and psychiatrists addressing a session organized by Karachi Psychiatric Hospital for the women patients attending its out-patient department said “discipline” was the key for each human being keen to get rid of depression.
They said that while there are always organic factors responsible for psychiatric ailments yet environment and attitude of a person, be it a man or a woman, towards life may also trigger insecurities.
The experts urged the people in general and women in particular to take due care of themselves, in specific context of their personal hygiene, and consumption of simple food.
Known cooking expert Zubaida Tariq, the chief guest on the occasion endorsing the presentations of the health experts said the women also need to adopt an indifferent attitude towards family politics.
Urging women to be more grateful to Allah for His blessings, instead of lamenting of what they may not have been while others are granted with, she said we need to focus more on character building.
Zubaida Tariq also advised them neither to interfere in the affairs of others nor comment about them, simultaneously ensuring that others may also not over-step their privacy.
The women participants on the occasion also expressed their views about the problems faced by them and plausible solutions to the same.
