ISLAMABAD: The authorities in Indian Occupied Kashmir have said that the flood situation is grim in the territory and they are facing difficulties in the rescue operations due to shortage of boats.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Rohit Kansal in a media interview in Srinagar said, “We are facing shortage of boats for rescuing people from inundated areas,” KMS reported.
He said 100 boats were being airlifted from New Delhi to rescue the stranded people.
Kansal said that many people were trapped in several localities which had been inundated due to breach in banks of River Jhelum at some places.
Due to shortage of boats we have not been able to reach these areas yet he added.
