KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah Tuesday discussed in detail the prevailing political situation, development activities, law and order and the measures being taken in connection with Eid-ul-Azha.
The two leaders, in their meeting at the Governor House here, also agreed on utilizing all available resources for promoting harmony in all segments of the society and for the welfare of the masses.
They also agreed on using advanced technology for maintaining law and order and for action and fast processing of cases against criminals without any discrimination or succumbing to any influence.
Both the leaders called for further activating security system and making intelligence network more effective to maintain law and order situation on Eid-ul-Azha in the province.
They directed the Director General Rangers and the IG Police Sindh to increase patrolling and vigilance through CCTV cameras in sensitive areas to ensure law and order.
The Governor and Chief Minister directed the officials concerned to ensure timely completion of development schemes in the province and the Karachi city. They also called for ensuring provision of the facilities of transport to the public.
They also ordered the removal of encroachments along the roads and highways for the success of the cleanliness drive in Karachi.
They said that protection to life and property of the people, maintaining law and order, creating job opportunities, controlling prices and providing other basic facilities is the top priority of the government.
Both the leaders said the government will provide all possible facilities to the people by utilizing available resources.
They said that recent target killings of teachers and religious scholars is an attempt to incite disharmony. The government will foil such nefarious designs with the support of Ulema, they added.
They said that there is complete harmony among the people, as the media has created awareness among the public.
The Governor and Chief Minister urged the people to remain vigilant and inform law enforcement agencies if they notice any suspicious person or activity.
