SHEIKHUPURA: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar Wednesday said the government would not leave the flood-hit people alone and would soon provide all possible facilities, including financial assistance.
Addressing a public gathering at BRB canal Saleempur,Narang Mandi, he directed DCO Sheikhupura Ali Jan Khan to prepare a list after reviewing losses so that the government could provide financial assistance to the flood-hit people as soon as possible.
He said the government was making efforts to provide relief to the flood-hit people, adding that the government would also compensate the stranded people.
The governor directed the officials concerned to set up water filtration plant to provide clean drinking water in flood-hit areas.
However, he also directed officials to put in place effective arrangements to eliminate dengue larva.
The governor also distributed cheques of Rs 1.6 million each among families of deceased who were killed due to the flood.
