ISLAMABAD: Merely by chanting slogans and dragging masses on the streets by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chief Imran Khan in the name of Naya Pakistan has raised numerous questions in the minds of saner and prudent Pakistanis as his campaign lacks a clear roadmap for revival of the system.
Since the system has remained in the grip of rhetoric and baseless allegations by PTI Chief over the last 45 days, majority of countrymen have now started believing that Mr Khan in more interested in grabbing power by hook or by crook instead of giving the nation a future plan of action.
What he has been stating in his speeches lacked sound grounds for implementation of his agenda which apparently looks vague and based on imagination when he fails to touch upon on individual issues and giving their solution.
How to settle down the flood affectees and internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and address issues like war on terror, economic recession, corruption, poor health and education facilities, enhancing revenue generation and exports are the questions that remain overshadowed by Imran’s desire for resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Though Imran Khan occasionally touches upon these issues in his speeches but where is the clear cut strategy which may lead his campaign to Naya Pakistan.
This is not all as claimant of enjoying confidence of majority and creating a New Pakistan – Imran Khan – also remains oblivious to masses miseries.
Swayed by personal wishes and poised to exploit emotions of people,Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chief Imran Khan most often remains busy in criticizing others forgetting his obligations to the people of Pakistan.
His focus had been resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif but he was felt ignoring national issues and problems which the government was trying to resolve.
Be it the problems of Internally Displaced Persons, war on terror and flood affectees, the government remained on its toes to alleviate masses suffering. But, on the other hand Mr Khan pursued his personal agenda to topple the government.
Either it is poor labor class or peasants who contribute major portion to the country’s economy, were though discussed by Mr Khan in his speeches but there was no plan of action.
Similarly, he has proposed no measures for progress of agriculture and industrial sector and enhancing per capita income. Same the case has been in terms of education and health facilities and number of other sectors.
The critic of claimed luxurious life by the rulers; Imran Khan forgets the luxuries he is enjoying at Banni Gala Mansion as well as in the container in which he is residing these days. The preacher of an ordinary life lives in a chilled container leaving his followers to sleep on roads in scorching heat of August and September.
He often describes Charter of Democracy (CoD) as a deal between two major political parties but remained silent for many days about secret London Gate agreed with Dr Qadri. Even his close aids were kept in the dark.
As PPP and PML-N leaders have validly defended CoD as a hallmark in country’s democratic history, the nation is seeking an answer from Imran Khan about secret deal with Qadri.
If Imran and Qadri had agreed on London Gate for a revolution and a New Pakistan then they kept it secret from the nation while the CoD was discussed, created and signed openly. Here it makes a difference between the approach of democratic leaders and those swayed by their personal agenda and lust for power.
And since, both the leaders could not defend this deal, Pakistani’s think its a conspiracy against the constitution, democracy and the parliament and a bid to hamper struggle of present government to steer country out of the economic crisis.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister and the government are not only focusing on miseries of the flood affectees and IDPs but also raising important issues like Kashmir at international fora.
It is regrettable that despite efforts by the government to resolve issues through dialogue, Imran Khan sticks to an unconstitutional demand of Prime Minister’s resignation not honoring the masses notion to work collectively for a real change in the country.
