ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif arrived here Monday at the conclusion of his visit to New York, where he attended the 69th session of the UN General Assembly and forcefully projected Pakistan’s position on Kashmir and other key regional and international issues.
The Prime Minister upon arrival at the Noor Khan airbase was warmly received by the leadership of Kashmir including the AJK Prime Minister Ch. Abdul Majeed and hurriyat leaders, who congratulated him on his historic speech at the UN General Assembly.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid,Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Ch. Birjees Tahir were also present at the airbase.
The prime minister in his address at the UN General Assembly highlighted the importance of the resolution of the long-standing Jammu and Kashmir dispute as part of his vision for regional peace,which he outlined in unambiguous terms.
During his visit, the Prime Minister also had a series of bilateral meetings with world leaders, including US Vice President Joseph Biden on the sidelines of the world’s largest diplomatic forum, and discussed advancing Pakistan’s international relations.
