KARACHI: The Sindh Education Foundation will commemorate International Literacy Day 2014 on September 8 by holding a discussion as how education can have an impact on the cultivation of sustainable development of the country.
Experts invited on the occasion will also highlight relevance of continued support to educational initiatives for the progress and prosperity of the nation.
Stakeholders to the cause of education would also discuss threadbare hindrances as well approaches in improving children’s participation in education that can lead to an improved national literacy rate.
Similar sessions will also be simultaneously held at Hyderabad and Sukkur followed by walks to express solidarity with the cause of education at Shaheed Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas, Larkana and Dadu as part of International Literacy Day 2014 celebrations.
SEF sources said the Foundation, under the leadership of its recently appointed Managing Director Aziz Kabani, shall utilize the occasion to promote reading and literacy amongst the marginalized children of Sindh.
The event shall provide an opportunity to listen and learn from the experiences of educators that have inspired students across the country.
