FAISALABAD: Managers of three banks have been booked on charge of their failure in making foolproof security arrangements in their banks.
The Faisalabad police have initiated proceedings against all those bank managers who failed to make foolproof arrangements for bank security to prevent the outlaws’ activities in the banks.
The security of all the banks was checked through a special team headed Superintendent Police (SP) Admin Maryam Naheed.
The team in its report pointed out that 131 out of 437 bank branches have inadequate and poor security arrangements. On the basis of this report, bank manageres were asked to improve the security arrangements as per SOP.
The banks’ authorities were also warned that if the SOP was not adhered in letter and spirit, they will be prosecuted in accordance with law.
On Tuesday, on the basis of the report about bank security in terms of Punjab Shops and Security Ordinance, the police authorities have booked Manager of Standard Charted Bank Railway Road Khurram Nagi, Manager Allied Bank Gol Cloth Katchery Bazaar Wahhab Ali Khan,and Manager Allied Bank Montgomery Bazaar Muhammad Rizwan.
CPO Dr.Sohail Habib Tajik directed SP Admin and Security to speed up the proceedings against all those bank managers who have not made adequate arrangements and security of the banks as per laid down procedure and SOP.
