MIRPUR: Eleven persons died and 27 were injured, 10 of them seriously, in three accidents in Rawalakot and Muzaffarabad districts on Tuesday, police said.
Seven persons lost their lives and nine were injured when a Bachote (Rawalakot) bound passenger van, which was coming from Rawalpindi, skidded off the road while negotiating a sharp turn and fell into a deep ravine near Khairyan village about 30 kilometer from Rawalakot at about 3.30 pm, a senior Rawalakot
Police officer told APP over telephone Tuesday night.
The deceased included two women Najma and Shabnam, Hafeez, Zohaib, Jehangeer, Safayaan and driver Sikander. The injured were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital, Rawalakot, where four of them were stated to be critical.
In the second incident, two persons were killed and 11 injured, three of them seriously, when a speeding passenger van plunged into a 400 feet deep ravine near the mausoleum of Maee Ami Sahbia at Nosairi village near Muzaffarabad. Meanwhile, two persons died and seven injured when a passenger jeep skidded off the road near Kopra Galli village, about 20 kilometers away from Muzaffarabad.
