MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Yaqoob Khan on Tuesday said that improvements in the quality of education will ensure progress, prosperity and development in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Addressing the 3rd Inter Provincial Ministerial Education Conference (IPMEC) he said ” Quality education is required to make progress, prosperity and development.” He said in the past top position holders belonged to “Taat schools,” because at that time quality of education was ensured by the government.”
He thanked Pakistan for holding education conference at a time when Indian forces were firing on the LoC killing innocent people. ” It indicates that Pakistan is sincere friends of Kashmirirs and wanted welfare of Kashmirs.”
He said five universities and two medical collages had been set up in the AJK.
He said Kashmiris are peaceful citizen and wanted to resolve Kashmir issue as per resolutions of United Nations.
He said literacy rate in AJK is around 70 percent if required funds had been provided during last two years, the rate would have been 100 percent.
The President said educated and professional of AJK are providing their services around the world. He said that present government is focusing on the quality of education.
He said, Kashmir issue should be resolved according to aspiration of Kashmiris. “Our demands is that people of Kashmir should be allowed to right self-determination as promised by the UN”.
He urged India to solve Kashmir through dialogue as war is no solution to any issue.
