LAHORE: Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said that record funds are being provided to health and education sectors for the provision of best facilites to the people.
Talking to party workers at Shalimar Town here Saturday, he said the main focus of the government was on protecting the health of people through strengthening of primary health care & disease preventive programmes.
The minister said billions of rupees had been allocated for the provision of education, health and other basic facilities in the current fiscal year budget. Special attention was paid to the provision of best treatment facilities to the people of far-flung areas,especially remote areas of South Punjab.
He said that more resources would be provided for the uplift of socio-economic status of the masses belonging to downtrodden areas.
Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman said the government was also encouraging non-governmental organizations as well as educational institutions for organizing awareness events against fatal diseases.
