HYDERABAD: A boy lost his life while three others sustained injuries as a result of explosion of crackers, hurled by unknown motorcyclists here in different localities of GOR and Hussainabad Police Stations on Saturday night.
According to police, motorcyclists hurled one of the crackers near Agriculture Complex as a result of which four persons received injuries.
A 12 years old boy Zaheer Ahmed s/o Mian Bux Lashari breathed his last before he could get any first aid. Three others Abdul Ghaffar s/o Muhammad Siddique Chandio 40, Muhammad Sachal s/o Wahid Bux and Nadeem s/o Zahoor Qureshi also sustained injuries who were rushed to Liaquat University Hospital City Branch.
The motorcyclists also tossed up one of the crackers at police mobile near Guddu Chowk as a result of which DSP Anwer Durrani narrowly escaped. However, the explosion caused damage to vehicles.
As a result of explosion, panic spread in the area and shopping and business activities were immediately closed down.
Police have been put on high alert with deployment of personnel and snap checking.
