KARACHI: The leader of MQM Altaf Hussain has said that an ordinance should be passed to set up committees across Pakistan which should be entrusted to keep an eye on terrorists.
This he said while talking to the Co-ordination Committee of the party in London and Pakistan on telephone, a statement of MQM said here on Monday.
He said that the members of the committee should be elected by local people and they should be divided into three teams for performing duties in shifts of eight hours in their respective areas. Members of these committees should be given armed licenses as they would not be able to fight with armed people empty handed.
MQM chief said that the Prime Minister and the federal cabinet should deliberate on my proposal urgently and come up with a solid line of action. If my suggestion does not appear appropriate, they should find another solution to counter terrorists activities in the country.
Altaf Hussain prayed Almighty Allah to bless the souls of the people who were killed in the suicide attack at the Wagah border. He also prayed for speedy recovery of the injured.
