MULTAN- Deputy chief inspector boiler (Industries department) Ghulam Haider was shot dead by two unknown men at his office here on Wednesday.
According to SSP Investigation Saifullah Khan, two youngsters with ages from 30 to 35 entered the office of Industries department and introduced themselves as Irfan and Imran, resident of Bahawalpur to the officials here on Wednesday. They said they wanted to meet deputy chief inspector boiler Ghulam Haider, said SSP Saifullah.They went to his office and opened fire at him.Ghulam Haider on the spot.
The attackers snatched mobile phones from the staffers and a rickshaw driver, Saifullah informed.SSP further stated that the attackers threw the mobile phones into nearby Circuit House.
“According to initial findings it seemed incident of revenge seeking”,said the police officer.He said the incident could not be termed dacoity or target killing. The officer belonged to Bahawalpur (Khanpur) and was serving in Multan for the last one year.
He stated that the police had obtained finger prints and other material that could be helpful in investigation process.
Police shifted body of the deceased man to Nishtar hospital for autopsy.
