KARACHI: Members of National Assembly (MNAs) belonging to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have expressed their absolute support for the resolution adopted Wednesday by participants of All Party Conference, called by the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
MNAs including Nawab Yousuf Talpur, Mir Ejaz Jakhrani and Imran Zafar Leghari appreciated that it was for the first time that a consensus has been developed among all the political and religious parties.
They said the decision unanimously supported by all parties with regard to action against terrorist Taliban can be in a way considered timely as no time is left for further contemplation.
Regretting that previously political and religious parties of the country were not on a same page against the terrorist Taliban they said unfortunate incident during which school students were martyred in Peshawar had left the nation with no choice.
This is painful but it has helped us to get united and chase the Taliban terrorist, they said adding that this also appeared to be a turning point in the history of the nation.
The MNAs said undeclared suspension of the capital sentence to the Taliban terrorists lying in jails had given terrorists a confidence to continue with their horrendous bids of terrorism across the country.
The decision of the APC with consensus for executing the Taliban terrorist, who had already been awarded the capital sentences from the courts of law would now prove to be a lesson and the onward execution expected in coming days would help curb the menace of terrorism, they said.
The quick execution of Taliban terrorist would, though minutely, provide justice to the parents of the martyred students, commented the parliamentarians.
The PPP MNAs said the party had always been like a wall of steel for the Taliban and the passage of the APC resolution against them was a concrete proof of the right viewpoint of the party.
They said the PPP was the only party that always rejected the threats from Taliban even after the martyrdom of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
It was very clear from day one that Pakistan being a country of peace and love and the Taliban, a dirty black scar on humanity, could not survive less than one roof and hence they had to be eliminated once for all.
Pakistan had offered tremendous sacrifices in the way of fight for the elimination of the terrorism, they said.
The PPP MNAs also lauded Noble Prize winner and the daughter of Pakistan, Mala Yousufzai who despite all threats openly rejected the Taliban and presented a soft image of the country at the international level.
