RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif Saturday said early return of temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) of North Wazirastan Agency to home was top priority and directed all concerned to start preparation for the return phase.
During his visit to Corps Headquarters Peshawar, the COAS was briefed on the return strategy for TDPs, including the rehabilitation of affected areas. Gen Raheel appreciated the planning process, according to an ISPR statement issued here.
During the day long stay at Peshawar, the COAS also reviewed the progress of ongoing Operations Zarb-e-Azb and Khyber and was briefed on their next phases.
He expressed complete satisfaction on the progress of operations and achievements made so far.
General Raheel appreciated the spirit and commitment of troops in sustaining the operations.
The COAS lauded the sacrifices rendered by officers and men in the operations, who have written new chapters of valour and commitments.
Earlier on arrival at Corps Headquarters, the COAS was received by Lieutenant General Hidayat Ur Rehman, Commander 11 Corps Peshawar.
