PESHAWAR: Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan here on Monday visited Army public school and homes of martyred school children and teachers to pay them homage.
Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and members of provincial cabinet and his party leaders also accompanied him.
He placed bouquet and flower wreath at main gate of the auditorium where most of the innocent children and their teachers were killed.
He offered fateha and paid homage to the martyred school children.
The army officials gave him details of the heartbreaking terror incident.
Speaking on the occasion, Imran Khan said that this national tragedy was more catastrophic than 9/11 as it soaked eyes of the Pakistani nation and the entire world community at large with immense gloom and shock.
He deplored that no religion allowed taking revenge of innocent children nor allowed to kill them anyhow.
“We don’t know who the stone hearted people were they who sprayed bullets on teenage children but did not take pity on them nor thought what brutal crime were they committing,” he added.
PTI Chairman also visited residences of some of the martyred school children at various localities of the city and condoled with their parents.
He also visited the residence of martyred school Principal Tahira Qazi and condoled with her husband Qazi Inam Ullah.
He prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and also paid homage to the courage of Tahira Qazi for embracing martyrdom during efforts to save lives of so many minor children.
He also termed it encouraging that parents, brothers and sisters of the martyred children and family members of the slain Principal and teachers expressed pride on martyrdom of their kiths and kins.
He said that living nations always gave such a bold reaction on their sacrifices during state of war.
However Imran Khan assured that bloodshed of these little angels would never be allowed to go waste as it would bear results for the coming generations in shape of ending terror and bringing about peace.
He said that the nation is united on one point agenda of uprooting terrorism that is difficult but not impossible.
He said KPK government was in constant contact with federal govt to equip its Police force to combat terrorism and evolve intelligence sharing mechanism as well as securing its borders with FATA that would soon yield fruits.
Imran Khan along-with cabinet members also attended a briefing on law and order situation in the province at Chief Minister House.
KPK Secretary Home, Syed Akhtar Ali Shah and IGP, Nasir Khan Durrani apprised him of the emerging challenges in respect of terrorism, law and order wherein it was revealed that the illegal mobile phone SIMs, having no authority to intercept talks between terrorists groups and prolong stay of Afghan refugees in millions were the main causes of increase in heinous crimes including terror bids, target killing, extortion and abduction for ransom.
Imran Khan assured to approach the center on these critical issues for making the country safe and secure in all respects.
