KARACHI: On the directives of Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan 11 illegal canteens out of 13 in the premises of Khatoon-e-Pakistan Girls College here have been demolished.
The Governor had taken notice of the illegal construction and non-academic activities in the premises of Khatoon-e-Pakistan Girls College and directed the Commissioner Karachi for immediate action, said a statement issued here on Sunday.
The Commissioner started an inquiry on the directives of the Governor and demolished 11 illegal canteens out of 13.
Their debris will be cleared by Sunday. Legal formalities are in process for demolishing the
remaining two illegal canteen from the premises of the college.
Governor Sindh made it clear that notice has been taken and order has been given to demolish any illegal construction in the educational institutions of the province for provision of a conducive educational environment.
The Department of Education has also been directed to make the educational environment better and retrieve every piece of occupied land of educational institutions. For this purpose speedy work is underway.
