SAO PAULO: Brazilian police had a shock when the search of a cache of stolen goods unearthed two tanks.
A container at a Sao Paulo storage depot was packed with up 500 new LCD televisions but also, to police officers’ surprise, “a crane, several auto parts and two army tanks.”
Both tanks, which the army said it had sold off at auction, had had their engines stripped out.
A police statement Tuesday said the depot owner told them he had rented out the container but was unaware of what was stashed away.
Police impounded the contents and said they had made one arrest.
