PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) central president Asfandyar Wali Monday demanded constitution of a judicial commission to probe terrorist attack on Army Public School in Peshawar and called for immediate implementation of National Action Plan to avert future threats.
Addressing a ceremony held here in connection with death anniversary of Bacha Khan and Wali Khan Baba here, he said the provincial government tried to shift responsibility of APS attack on army while ignoring the fact that the terrorists reached the school using civil areas of the district.
He said it was a big failure on part of the provincial government that they had no monitoring system of terrorist activities in civil areas which resulted in APS tragedy.
Asfandyar called for immediate implementation of national action plan in an effective manner to avert future threats, besides eliminating terrorism and extremism from the country.
He said that Pak-Afghan governments would have to fight terrorism jointly for eliminating the menace, adding that until and unless the two governments do not cooperate in the war against terrorism, the menace of terrorism cannot be rooted out.
ANP president said the federal and provincial governments would have to pay attention to the difficulties of the displaced persons of Waziristan and take pragmatic measures for their early resettlement.
Meanwhile, he highlighted the role of Wali Khan and Bacha Khan in the so-called Jihad in Afghanistan and said the two leaders strongly had condemned the so-called Jihad and gave the message of love and affection.
