KARACHI: Four injured of Saturday night’s bus accident at the National Highway were discharged from Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) after medical assistance, hospital officials told on Sunday.
The injured were identified as Dur Muhammad (45 years) s/o Abdul Karim, a resident of Shikarpur; Anayata Bibi (26 years) w/o Irshad Ali; Ali Nawaz (10 years) s/o Irshad Ali and Muskan (three years) d/o Irshad Ali from Quaidabad, Karachi. They were brought with minor injuries.
Dur Muhammad, on his request, was also provided with an ambulance by the hospital to be transported to his relative’s resident in Karachi, Dr. Seemien Jamali said.
Meanwhile 62 bodies of the same accident victims were handed Sunday evening to police by JPMC medico-legal department authorities, after being carefully separated, as certain bodies were brought in almost pile form and were initially counted to be 59.
Required sample collection for DNA test was also conducted on these bodies at the hospital prior to their handing over to the police and shifted to Edhi Morgue at Sohrab Goth where these would be kept till duly identified and handed to their respective legal heirs.
DNA test of these bodies would be conducted at the forensic center in Islamabad and may take a few days time before being given to the concerned families, a senior police official said.
