ISLAMABAD: Analysts said there should be limitation on freedom of speech against any religion and no body should be allowed to hurt sentiments of any faith in the name of freedom of expression.
Speaking in Radio Pakistan’s Nuqta-e Nazar programme,senior journalist Zafar Mehmood Sheikh said such activities hurt the sentiments of Muslim community. He opined that this looks like an international campaign being launched against Muslim community and this would result in increase in the incidents of terrorism.
National Assembly has unanimously passed a resolution against blasphemous sketches. Leaders of various politico-religious parties have denounced their publication, he added.
Senior journalist Maqbool Elahi Malik said the nation condemned the printing of blasphemous sketches of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in a French journal. He urged European Union to take strict action against the French journal in order to stop such acts in future.
Western countries should play their role to resolve this issue and make sure that these incidents are not repeated in future.
