KARACHI: Captain Sana Mir produced fine all-round show to spearhead Pakistan to 12-run victory over Sri Lanka in ICC Women’s Points One-Day International match at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday.
Sana, who led Pakistan to Asian Games gold in Incheon (South Korea) last September, scored s teady 34 off 79 balls with two boundaries and took two wickets 22 to play an architectural role in her team?s triumph.
Batting first, Pakistan recovered from 6-2 to score 138 for the loss of nine wickets in their 50 overs. Nain Abidi made 29 in 67 balls with three strikes to the ropes. Asmavia Iqbal hit two fours in her 29-ball 19.
Left arm slow orthodox bowler Sugandika Kumari claimed three wickets for 24 runs in eight overs.
Sri Lanka women’s in reply was bowled out for 126 in 45.1 overs.
Dilani Mandara top-scored with 38 in 84 balls with three strikes to the boundary.
Spinners duo of Sadia Yousuf and Bismah Maroof shared six wickets between them. Sadia took three wickets for 28 runs with her left arm spin and legspinner Bismah claimed three wickets for 28 runs.
