The rupee did not show any change against the dollar on the local money market on Saturday in the process of trading, dealers said. The rupee was inert versus the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 100.70 and Rs 100.90 respectively, however it gained 45-paisa in relation to the euro for buying and selling at Rs 120.75 and Rs 121.00, they said.
OPEN MARKET RATES: At the week-end, the US dollar hit its highest level against the euro in 4-1/2 years and reached parity with the Swiss franc after comments from European Central Bank President Mario Draghi underscored the benefits of tighter US monetary policy.
The euro fell to $1.2005, its lowest since June 2010, after Draghi told the German financial newspaper Handelsblatt that the ECB was less likely to preserve price stability than it was six months ago, suggesting it was ready to take bolder steps on monetary stimulus early this year.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee-dollar parity remained unchanged amid sluggish trading trend on the local currency market on Saturday.
According to the currency dealers, the dollar resumed trading at its day earlier closing of Rs 100.75 and Rs 101.00 as its buying and selling rate, respectively. The dollar did not observe any change in its rates during the day, the dealers said.
Similarly, the rupee showed stability and stayed unchanged against the British pound. The pound was traded at its Friday closing of Rs 156.00 and Rs 156.25 on buying and selling counter, respectively, they added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee-dollar parity remained unchanged on the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, here on Saturday.
The dollar opened at Rs 101.30 (buying) and Rs 101.40 (selling) against the same overnight rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 101.30 (buying) and Rs 101.40 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 158 (buying) and Rs 159 (selling) against the same overnight value. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 158 (buying) and Rs 159 (selling).
