PESHAWAR: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) averted a bid of terrorism in Mardan by arresting two alleged Afghan terrorists besides recovering explosive materials from their possession.
Official sources in Counter Terrorism Department informed that a raiding party was constituted after receiving information about presence of two afghan terrorists at Doranpur Peshawar.
The police conducted a successful raid at Doranpur Road and arrested afghan terrorists Muhammad Wazir son of Muhammad Jan and Sher Khan son of Hazrat Said residents of Afghanistan after resistance.
CTD claimed to have recovered 10.984 kilogram fine quality explosive, four detonators and five devices from their possession.
During preliminary investigation, the accused disclosed of carrying out a terrorist activity at Mardan on Friday, the official claimed.
The accused were shifted to undisclosed location for interrogation and case was registered agains them under anti terrorism laws.
