ISLAMABAD: Spokesman to the Prime Minister Dr. Musadiq Malik Tuesday said the basic responsibility of maintaining law and order, after the 18th amendment, lies with the provincial governments.
Talking to a news channel, he said the federal government was lending every support to the provincial governments in this regard and would continue to do so.
Malik said there was a need to take hard decisions to ensure supremacy of law.
Regarding Baldia Town incident, he said the Joint Investigation Team’s report over the incident would be presented before the court which would decide about the case after fulfilling all the legal formalities.
The matter should neither be politicized nor should its media trial be done, he mentioned.
He said anyone found responsible for any anti-state activity should be dealt with iron hand.
To another question, Malik said only those cases which would qualify a defined criteria would be referred to military courts.
