LAHORE: Food Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Price Control Bilal Yasin on Monday said that strict action would be taken against those who were not selling petrol and diesel at reduced rates.
Talking to APP, he said, the PML-N government believed in serving masses and wanted to make it sure that the common man be benefited from the sharp cut in POL prices.
He said, since with the recent second biggest relief in petroleum prices, the prices of daily use items would come down considerably.
He said, special squads, headed by district coordination officers had been tasked with checking petroleum prices.
The Minister said, transporters had already been asked to immediately reduce fares after lowering the fuel prices by the government.
“Our policies are people-friendly benefitting common man and no one will be allowed to exploit the poor or flout government directions,” he added.
He said, all DCOs had also been directed to have thorough visits of ‘transport addas’ and inquire from the passengers whether or not, transporters reduced fares.
Meanwhile, some 19 petrol pumps had been sealed and cases had been registered against owners of filling station.
