ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokheri attended the 9th Plenary Session of Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) Monday in the Principality of Monaco.
He was representing the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) as its President, said a press release received here.
Senator Mian Raza Rabbani, Senator Mukhtar Ahmed Dahmra and Senator Nisar Mohammad Khan accompanied the Chairman Senate as part of his entourage.
During the course of the meeting the Chairman Senate met Prince Albert II, head of State of the Principality of Monaco and also held bilateral deliberations with delegates attending the PAM Session.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean is a forum where the Parliaments of the region come together and operate to reach common objectives for creation of better political, social, economic and cultural environment and conditions for fellow citizens of the member states.
PAM is a regional interstate organization, an Observer at the General Assembly of the United Nations and with a specific international juridical status.
The Assembly plays a fundamental role as an organization whose activities are firmly rooted as a complementary asset to the work of other regional and international bodies entrusted with the responsibility to foster security, stability and peace in the Mediterranean.
