ISLAMABAD: Veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has expressed concern over the increasing attacks on churches in New Delhi, saying that these attacks are planned and the Hindu communal parties are behind these attacks.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that due to the changing conditions in India, a serious threat to the life, property and dignity of all the minorities had emerged and the new government of India was in haste to accomplish the task of extremist Hindu organization, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), KMS reorted.
He said that the attacks on churches in New Delhi had threatened the Christian community in India and they were feeling very unsafe.
“A series of attacks are happening over the places of worships of Christians from last few months in which their religious symbols are being targeted,” he deplored.
The veteran leader criticized the Delhi Police for using brute force on peaceful protest demonstrations of Christian community.
He pointed out that the communal forces had got a considerable control over the Delhi government and police so their investigation could neither be independent and demanded impartial investigation into the incidents.
Syed Ali Gilani said that Muslims, Christians and Sikhs although were already treated as second class citizens in India but the new BJP government had created serious situation for them and their religious identity was in extreme danger. “A war has been waged against the minorities and they are being forced to accept the Hinduism,” he added.
He questioned the continued silence of Narendra Modi over the provocative and communal statements of RSS leaders and said that it seemed that whatever was happening with the minorities was not a coincidence but it was a deep conspiracy, which communal people were hatching.
He appealed to all religious and political leaders of the minorities to remain united and fight the evil designs of communal forces.
