ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Standing Committee on Communications Monday recommended to hand over all new constructions and projects of Motorway police to NHA as the PWD has failed to complete the schemes in time.
The National Assembly body met here under the Chairmanship of MNA Sufyan Yousuf to discuss the detailed budgetary proposals relating to Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the financial year 2015-16.
The Ministry briefed the committee on the objectives and importance of the PSDP in details, said a press release issued here.
The Committee was informed by Inspector General of Police that 3500 vacancies will be created for the people of Baluchistan to provide foolproof security to the roads including Quetta to Zhobe road, Quetta to Sukkar, Gawader to Karachi and Quetta to Chaman.
The Committee approved the NTRC projects except the Permanent Traffic count Programme and Road Research Programme.
After detailed discussion the committee approved almost all PSDP projects except few ones for financial year 2015-16.
The meeting was also attended by MNAs including Chaudhray Khalid Javaid Warraich, Maiza Hameed, Nazir Ahmed Bughio, Ramesh Lal, Salim Rehman, Muhammad Muzammil Qureshi, Molana Qamar ud Din, Sahibzada Tariq Ullah, Naseema Hafeez Panezai, Engr. Usman Khan Tarakai and Shahjehan Muneer Mangrio.
