HYDERABAD: Commissioner Hyderabad Asif Haider Shah has directed the officers concerned to detect the illegal sale points of oil and gas in Hyderabad Division so that such illegal practice could be eliminated through police and district administration.
The Commissioner issued these directives while presiding over a meeting here at former District Nazim Secretariat on Tuesday regarding elimination of the illegal sale of oil and gas in Hyderabad Division.
The Commissioner also asked the officers concerned to seal all such petrol pumps which are selling petroleum products at prices above those fixed by the government.
The government is making sincere efforts to provide maximum relief to the people and curb the menace of illegal profiteeing from the commodities.
Stern action will be taken against those who are selling the petroleum products at prices above the fixed prices, he maintained.
The meeting was informed that the concerned departments have arrested 39 persons on charge of selling oil and gas through illegal sale points.
A total of 35 cases have been registered, of them 29 cases have been challaned in the court of law, the meeting was informed.
Among others, Additional Commissioner-I, Additional Commissioner-II, police officers and representatives of OGRA, OGDCL, Energy Department, PARCO, JJVL, United Energy, PSO, Shell, Edmore, Total, ENI and BHP were also present in the meeting.
