ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday urged the need of further strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Turkey through enhanced people-to people exchanges and mutual trade.
The President while talking to Ambassador-designate to Turkey, Sohail Mahmood, who called on him here at Aiwan-e-Sadr, said that Pakistan-Turkey bilateral relations are steadily transforming into a strategic partnership.
He, however, added that the bilateral trade and economic relations between the two countries does not commensurate with the actual potential.
The President advised the Ambassador-designate that efforts should be intensified to provide a facilitating environment for effective interface between the private sector and Turkish investors to motivate them to invest in Pakistan.
He said that the Ambassador-designate should also focus on strengthening cultural cooperation.
The President asked the Ambassador-designate to convey good wishes to the Turkish leadership.
The Ambassador-designate assured the President that he will put in all efforts to further strengthen relations between the two countries.
