LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finally announced the name of Test bowler Rahat Ali as a second pacer for World Cup 2015 in replacement of injured Junaid Khan.
A spokesman of the board said that the chairman, Shaharyar Khan had approved a request from the tour selection committee to send Rahat for the mega event.
The inclusion of Rahat means that allrounder, Bilawal Bhatti will be flying back home after a nightmarish match against New Zealand in the second one day international this week where he conceded 93 runs.
According to the statement issued, after recovering from a knee injury in January Junaid was hit by hamstring injury during practice just before the team left for New Zealand.
Earlier, PCB was confused in selection of suitable bowler for World Cup. Fast bowler Bilawal Bhatti was also in eyes of PCB for the replacement.
Junaid expressed his disappointment on Twitter but said his well wishes were with the Pakistan team
The Peshawar speedster did quite well in the recently concluded national ODI tournament but a recurrence of an earlier injury forced him to be left out of the national team.
