KARACHI: Restoration of law and order is the top priority of the Sindh government and for the purpose different units of police including Rapid Response Cell, Special Service Unit of Sindh police are actively engaged.
Talking to journalists on provincial assembly premises Friday, Sindh minister for information Sharjil Memon said government realizing the sensitivity of the issue has also adopted merit as the main criterion for fresh inductions made in the police force.
About reservations expressed by opposition parties, he said alleged discrepancies must be documented with concrete and substantial evidence.
“The matter can also be referred to the court,” said Sharjeel Inaam Memon.
He said around 1000 cops from Sindh police force have been imparted special and updated training against terrorists while special packages are being offered to them so as to ensure that all their genuine needs are met.
In fact salaries of all cops belonging to Sindh police department have been brought at par with their counterparts in other provinces, said the minister.
Memon said support money for the heirs of the cops martyred while realizing their professional responsibilities has also been substantially raised.
