KARACHI: Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain announced on Monday that he is not able to run party leadership anymore and party workers should select a new leader from tomorrow, he is resigning from the post, Aaj News reported.
Altaf Hussain said, “I will not be leading MQM from now on,” the decision is final this time, he does not want to run the party affairs anymore, he added.
He also asked the party lawmakers to elect a new candidate as his replacement.
The MQM leader Altaf Hussain made the statement during a telephonic address at MQM’s 90 headquarters.
In the address, the Chief Altaf criticized Imran Khan’s statement against the MQM in show stated on private channel.
