KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul- Ebad Khan has said that there is need to maintain focus on good governance for ensuring improved law and order and infrastructure development.
He was talking to the participants of the course of Command and Staff College Quetta at the Governor House here on Thursday.
The Governor said that the country’s development and prosperity lies in the development of Karachi, as the metropolis is not only the country’s commercial hub, but also the educational, arts, cultural and intellectual centre.
Dr. Ishratul Ebad, who is also the chancellor of public sector universities, said since he assumed charge the number of public sector universities has increased to 20, and in private sector 34 universities are functioning.
About the steps taken for bringing improvement in law and order situation, he said that several gangs involved in terrorism, kidnapping for ransom and extortion have been busted.
He also told the participants about progress of development projects in the province.
