RAWALPINDI: On the violation of marriage laws, City Police arrested eight persons here on Friday in the precinct of Rata Amral Police.
According to police spokesman, Rata Amral police conducted raid at a marriage party and held eight persons, displaying firearms and use of firecrackers at the marriage party. The arrested were identified as Raja Waqar, Zeeshan, Muhsin Bashir, Irfan, Usman Bhatti, Muhammad Nadeem, Bilal Muhammad and Irfan.
Police have registered separate cases against all of them on the violation of marriage act besides confiscating firecrackers from their possession.
While, aerial firing in jubilation has become a great nuisance for the citizens and they have expressed grave concern over the indifferent attitude of police and district administration towards the sheer violation of the marriage ordinance in the city and its suburbs.
Display of fireworks and aerial firing have not only become a routine during marriages but also been made an integral part without which every marriage procession is considered incomplete.
Aerial firing has claimed scores of precious lives and only criminal apathy had been shown by the authorities concerned to curb this menace.
