ISLAMABAD: Four Members of National Assembly from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) here on Friday announced to boycott Senate elections.
Talking to media outside the Parliament, Shahabuddin, Muhammad Jamal Uddin, Qaiser Jamal Afridi and Ghalib Khan protested the withdrawal of Presidential regarding Senate elections.
The members said the ordinance had been taken back with out their consultation.
They said taking back the ordinance had encouraged the alleged sale and purchase of the members of FATA for Senate elections.
“We wanted to promote politics of ideology, while other wanted to promote politics of sale and purchase,” they alleged.
“What kind of elections is this, in which six members are electing four senators; it is the selection and not elections”, they said.
They were of the view that electoral collage is not complete as out of 11 members 4 had announced to boycott the elections.
