DI KHAN: The process of return of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of South Waziristan agency kicked off on Monday with giving a send off to 200 families on the first day at Kor Qilla Tank.
The political administration and Pak Army had made fool proof security arrangements on the occasion where media was briefed with regard to issues pertaining repatriation and rehabilitation of the displaced populace of South Waziristan which witnessed Raha-e-Nijat operation against terrorists in 2009.
Besides the Pak-Army, the political administration in collaboration with the FDMA is facilitating the TDPs on their return.
A set of clothes, donated by the Punjab government was also distributed among the IDPs.
According to political administration, around 5000 registered families of Tehsils Sararogha and Sarwakie of South Waziristan Agency will be rehabilitated to their native areas during this phase which will be completed on April 4.
The government is also paying each family Rs 35000 for transport and other expenditure, adding the administration would also provide ration to the displaced populace for six months.
An official said that this was the 11th phase of rehabilitation and return of displaced families of South Waziristan Agency while 11924 had already reached at their areas in South Waziristan agency under the previous phases.
