SUKKUR: Following the blast incidents at Catholic and Protestant churches in Lahore, all missionary schools in Sukkur, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Jacobabad and other districts of northern Sindh remained closed in mourning on Monday.
Christian community staged a protest against terrorists’ attack on churches in Lahore, led by Father Muneer Basheer of Saint Saviour’s Church Sukkur. “We condemn the attack and demands of the government to trace and execute the perpetrators of the heinous crime,” they said.
They also called for immediate steps to protect the churches in the country.
They appealed to the people of Sukkur and others to remain peaceful and avoid taking recourse to violence as a form of protest.
In Khairpur, a large number of members of the Christian community staged a protest against the suicide attacks outside churches in Lahore and demanded strict action against the culprits.
Meanwhile, local Ulema have also condemned the killing of Christians in Lahore and expressed solidarity with them.
