NA committee directs MoS&T for mechanism to stop sale of Haram products in country
ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Standing Committee on Science and Technology Monday condemned the sale and purchase of Haram edible items and directed the ministry of S&T to take stringent measures in collaboration with concerned Ministries/Departments to develop mechanism to stop the sale of Haram products in the country.
The NA Standing Committee, on Science and Technology met here on Monday under the Chairmanship of Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema,MNA and discussed the Calling Attendance Notice regarding sale and purchase of Prohibited Edibles Items in the country,moved by Ms.Shahida Akhter Ali and other MNAs.
The committee highly appreciated the efforts of the movers for drawing attention of the authorities concerned towards most important issue.
The committee was informed that the ministry of S&T was contemplating to introduce “The Pakistan Halal Authority Bill 2015.
Therefore, the committee constituted a Sub-Committee headed by MNA,Sajid Ahmad to examine the efforts of the concerned ministries/departments to stop the illegal sale of Haram edible items.
