ISLAMABAD: Former Captain Imran Khan has urged the team management to include Yasir Shah and Younis Khan in the quarter final match against Australia at the Adelaide Oval on March 20 (Friday).
Khan said this is a knockout game and any team can win this. “There is pressure on Australia as well. I simply don’t understand why Yasir Shah has still not been played,” he said while talking to a private news channel.
Khan said on Australian wickets, a leg-spinner is a necessity and someone who can take wickets. “Australians play medium pacers very well but Yasir should be played as Adelaide wicket takes spin,” he said.
Khan said Younis must also be played in this game. “We will need a batsman like Younis to tackle the pressure of big games,” he said.
Khan said if we lose two wickets in first 20 runs then your chances of winning are just 40% and if you lose 3 wickets, then you have only a 15% chance of winning. “Send your top batsmen first with Younis Khan on No 3 and Misbah-ul-Haq as No 4,” he said adding only keep one thought in mind, which is to win.
Khan said we have suffered a great loss due to Mohammad Irfan being ruled out of the World Cup as he is a wicket taking bowler. “My only advice to Misbah is to remove the fear of losing a game from your mind,” he said.
Khan said if we beat Australia and meet India in the semi final, then the pressure will be on India as Pakistan are rising up and peaking slowly.
