KARACHI: In a targeted operation in the early hours of Wednesday, Rangers carried out a raid at Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarter Nine Zero, with the Party declaring that several of MQM leaders had been arrested, Aaj News reported.
According to the sources, the MQM’s Raabta Committee said Rangers personally raided the MQM’s head office.
“I can prove this is a lie,” he asserted.
He said the house of his 68-year-old sister was also raided.
He further questioned why there is no operation against any other political party despite Supreme Court verdict which states that every party in the city has a militant wing.
Altaf claimed MQM is the only party whose offices have been raided in the country. “Am I not a Pakistani or a Muslim,” he questioned, while criticising the behaviour of security personnel who conduct these raids.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain has started his address to party workers and supporters.
Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has asked for a report on the raid from IG Sindh and DG Rangers.

According to the sources, Sindh Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has asked reports to DG Rangers and IG Sindh of today’s raid at Nine Zero.
