KARACHI: General Secretary, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Liaquat Baloch has said that holding of transparent elections in NA-246 is a challenge for the authorities concerned.
This he said while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday. JI Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman and candidate on NA-246 Rashid Naseem were also present among others.
He also announced that the JI will hold a public gathering in the city on April 12 in connection with the by-polls on NA-246 which will be addressed by JI Chief Siraj-ul-Haq.
He further said that his party does not believe in confrontation in politics and urged the leadership of
MQM and PTI to resolve the matters amicably according to the democratic norms.
Baloch said that the JI whenever came into power has utilized all available resources for the welfare of the people of Karachi, adding that the services of former city Mayors Niamatullah Khan and Abdul
Sattar Afghani were the proof of all development work which were carried out in their tenures.
