ISLAMABAD: Chinese President Xi Jinping reached Islamabad on Monday. This is the first visit by any Chinese president in Nine Years, Aaj News reported.
This visit marked a historic event as the Chinese president is expected to sign projects and launched the Pak-China economic corridor.
Jinping is the first Chinese President to visit Islamabad in 9 years. Chinese President was greeted by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, President Mamnoon Hussain, three services Chiefs and ministers and members of federal cabinet.
Airplane of Chinese president was escorted by eight Jf-17 thunder jets as his Plane enters the airspace of Pakistan.
21 gun salutes was given to honor the President of China. Jinping arrived with his wife and a deputation consisting of high level of Chinese business men.
Both countries will sign important agreements. Pak-China economic corridor will include projects in sectors like infrastructure, energy and communication consisting of multibillion dollars.
On a related note Xi Jinping will be awarded the highest civil award, the Nishan-e-Pakistan. Mainstream leaders will also meet the Chinese President on his two day visit.
The Capital is decorated with banners and colorful lights to welcome the President Jinping.
