ISLAMABAD: The eleven Indian nationals who were evacuated from Yemen by a Pakistani Navy Ship PNS Aslat and reached Karachi yesterday were sent to New Delhi by a special aircraft.
Foreign Office Spokesperson Tasnim Aslam giving the details said special aircraft to send eleven Indian nationals to New Delhi was arranged on the special directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
She said the Prime Minister, in the spirit of promoting cooperative ties with neighboring countries, made an offer for providing a special aircraft to facilitate the return of Indian nationals to their country and it was accepted by the Indian side.
The spokesperson said while onboard, facilitation and courtesy was extended to Indian nationals by the personnel of the Pakistan Navy when they were brought to Karachi on ship.
The special aircraft carrying the Indian nationals flew from Karachi this afternoon for New Delhi, she said.
