BANGLADESH: Pakistan tour of Bangladesh started with the tour match here on Wednesday against the Bangladesh Cricket Board XI at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah.
Pakistan won the toss and gave Bangladesh to bowl first. Pakistan started their innings with the new pair of openers Mohammed Hafeez and Captain Azhar Ali.
Azhar Ali experimented to shuffle his place at number 3 to an opener, but unfortunately, he was not able to make big score in a tour match.
Hafeez smashed thrilling 85 runs off 79 balls with four sixes and nine fours. After the first opening partnership stand of 66 runs, Azhar Ali got out on 27, Ali hat 3 fours and played 49 balls to reach 27 at the strike rate 55.10.
Haris Sohail and Mohammad Rizwan added 23 and 18 runs when they bat. Saad Nasim, Asad Shafiq and Sarfaraz Ahmed did not mange to stay on crease when it alomost 20 overs left in the innings.
However, Fawad Alam was only the man after Hafeez’s wicket who stayed on the crease at last and showed his talent, Fawad was well enough to read situation and played according to it. His 67 runs off 58 balls gave Pakistan a handsome total 268/9 in 50 overs.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Cricket Board XI have lost their early wickets of the opening pair of Tamim Iqbal and Rony Talukdar by Rahat Ali and Junaid Khan.
Azhar Ali brought the new magician Ajmal in 9th over, with his new action; Ajmal took 1st wicket of Litton Das. Yasir Shah got the 4th wicket of Mominul Haque.
In Over 21, Bangladesh Cricket Board XI 99/4, still requires another 170 runs with 6 wickets and 29.0 overs remaining.
